Hi! We are Alexa and Mia, two educators, native Mandarin speakers, and best friends.

In April 2021, we launched Early Sparks to share the best Chinese teaching and learning activities to make Chinese learning fun and interactive for young learners. We also provide valuable Chinese Classroom teaching tips for educators and advice for parents on fostering a bilingual environment at home.

Our goal is to create a supportive community where teachers and parents can find the tools they need to nurture young learners in their mastery of the Chinese language.

A few fun facts about us:

We were roommates for 3.5 years! Now Alexa lives in Brooklyn, NY and Mia lives in Irvine, CA. Mia has a daughter, Mumu, who is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese.
